The concept of the Digital Twin has been used by NASA for decades. Digital Twins become virtual representations of buildings, factories, machines or urban infrastructures. By combining sensor and environmental data, they enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, localization, process optimization and automation of procedures. Digital Twins are used especially well in industry. But in combination with IoT they can also offer value in other areas. DIGIMONDO already uses the Digital Twin solution in facility management and asset tracking services.
